This Frida Kahlo portrait is part of Jacqueline Myers Cho's Icon series. These portraits are silkscreened onto cloth and then embellished with stitches as well as upcycled fabrics. The silk screened portrait was further embellished with sewn on fabric to crown her head.
I have taken Jacqueline's creations and mounted them on archival mat board and then framed. The mat board has been built up on the sides so that the glass floats above the textile art which not only protects the artwork, but also creates a really nice depth for the framed artwork.
The framed work on mat board measure 14x11 inches. The textile art is mounted on white mat board and framed in a white frame to give it a contemporary finish.
